Whats the best stuff for adult facial acne on a pregnant woman?
I’m 26 and have been prone to acne all my life. I was taking antibacterial pills daily before I got pregnant but can’t take them during pregnancy. The dermatologist won’t give me any cream since i’m pregnant(it’s got harsh chemicals in it too) and I have no idea what is best to use. Any advice on acne welcome. Thanks

I had the same problem…..i found a organic cleanser at target. It’s called Yes to Carrots. I bought the cleanser/scrub. It is working really well for me…and there’s no chemicals!!
Its not with the regular acne treatments/cleansers. I found it close to the make-up by the burt’s bees products.
Hope this helps
Oh I LOVE Kiss My Face (all Kiss My Face prods. are all natural)
8% Alpha Hydroxy, Peaches and Cream.
Here’s the thing…it’s a MOISTURIZER so you can use your mild soap or something like Noxzema or Cetaphil and then use the Kiss My Face afterwards.
It works really well, check out the reviews at drugstore . com but here’s the thing….since it’s 100% natural it really does have a natural peaches and cream scent. It’s definitely NOT all flowery and perfumey like you might be used to.
Think of when you bite into a peach and although it may be sweet it’s also a little bit tart or sour and there’s a definite scent that a freshly bitten peach has…and it’s definitely not like a drugstore perfume.
It works awesome though, after only 3 or 4 days your skin is definitely smoother and has a nice bright glow, and it comes in a 4% formula too if 8% is too strong for you
I use St. Ives apricot scrub and never break out.
I have the same problem, I have been washing my face at night with baby wipes and then applying white toothpaste on the zits, seems to dry them out pretty quickly… GL! You’re not alone!
OMG!The same thing happened to me.When I was pregnant my acne was horrible and I found this site that gave me natural simple things and my acne got better. After I had the baby I got the products they offer and my skin has been clear ever skin.I was truly amazed.I hope it works for you.
I would suggest a face wash and moisturizer from Bare Minerals. They also have acne treatment.
Clinique also has a very nice face wash, toner, and moisturizer.
Oh, and don’t go for neutrogena face wash. Their face washes are not completely scent free and can really irritate the skin. Go for unscented even if you don’t have sensitive skin. It really makes a huge difference.
All of Clinique’s and Bare Mineral’s products are hypo-allergenic, non-comedogenic, scent free and oil free.
IDK if this really works but alot of people swear proactiv works, or that new Neutrogena ID.. you could try that.
I use Neutrogena products. They’re the #1 dermatologist recommended acne solution people. Yeah. It should work for you. If it doesen’t, go on skinID.com and do the evaluation. You’ve seen the commercial, right? It’s a little pricy though. ($39.90)
I’ve been using Neutrogena’s facial cleaner and it seems to be pretty helpful, although I’m horrible at remembering to use it so it’s probably not as effective as it could be LOL
Cetaphil, is wonderful for uber sensitive skin….try that.
any OTC acne treatment is fine durig pregnancy- I asked about it extensively because with my first I was qutie the little zit farm.
I found that the acnefree system at walmart worked best. even the second time around it works great.
Benzoyl Peroxide gel, 10%. Won’t hurt the baby.
I, along with my 2 sisters, have dealt with acne for most of our adult lives. One of my sisters discovered that Proactive worked for her, then when we tried it worked for us, too.
I have been using Proactive for 2 years (not the whole "solution", just the step 1) and have had maybe 4 pimples in that time. I was worried when I found out that I was pregnant that the hormones would be too much for the Proactive to handle, but it’s been fine.
So, here’s what I do to keep my face clear . . . Proactive step 1 at night, and I put my hair up so it stays off my face while sleeping. Then in the morning I use a Clean & Clear detox awakening scrub in the shower.
