What do you do for adult acne …AKA "roscea"???
Help…I have never had pimples in my life and now I have these little red bumbs on my face. Others have called them roscea. They don’t react to Pro-Active or the run of the mill acne treatment because it drys my adult skin out!

This is a problem I know very well because I had adult acne myself which manifested itself at age 36. I found out much later that it was caused by the contraceptive pills that were sent by the US to 3rd world countries. Sad, but true and too late! After years of frustration, I finally found a Dermatologist who performed dermabrasion which improved the scars by about 60%.
Rosacea and adult acne are both two different conditions and I seriously suggest you see a dermatolist AND a regular doctor. With the regular doctor, you can get your blood checked to see if there are any deficiencies, blood impurities/imbalances or internal causes for the acne.
Rosacea is not curable as far as I know, but it is definitely containable-check out a couple of dermatologists who specialize in both conditions before you agree to any type of treatment.
Good luck.
Roseca can usuallly be a result of stress. I was living with a stressful roommate and as soon as I got married and moved out my face cleared up. I also started drinking more water. But stress was the cause of my face breaking out!
as an adult who has rosacea i can tell you what works best for me…i’ve tried going to the dermatologist but i’m not one for consistent doctor’s visits or prescription filling. i use a couple of different treatments and i rotate them each season. i use aveeno foaming face wash for normal skin and aveeno lotion that is specially for facial redness (spring/summer). i go with the clinique three step skin care system with the antioxidant face lotion in the fall and winter.
Dont use any hard treatment , it will make ur pimples worser.
Try natural home remedies, like cucumber water for 20 min on face will reduce pimples.
I hope this will help, if not there is a green stick from the brand: T-ZONE available in boots, superdrug. Its good for pimples.
Adult acne and Rosacea are 2 completely different problems. I would suggest going to the dermatologist. Pro-active is great for acne, but is way too harsh and damaging for rosacea. For Rosacea – very gentle, unscented cleanser like Cetaphil. Very light unscented moisturizer – I like Almay, Neutragena or cetaphil moisturizer. Things that will make Rosacea flare up – booze, cigarettes, caffeine, exessive stress and basically anything that would make your skin flush.
Oh, and one product I really like to cover everything during the day is the L’Oreale mineral foundation.
Rosacea is a condition of the skin often referred to as adult acne (although it shouldn’t be confused with acne)that causes red blemishes to form on the nose and cheek area. General redness, broken and enlarged capillaries often accompany these areas. The cause of the condition is unknown but it is suspected that genetics play a role. In its mildest form, Rosacea can be difficult to recognize. It almost always affects the nose area with red blemishes among red patches on the skin. Sometimes, oily skin accompanies Rosacea. Flare-ups of this condition have been associated with the consumption of alcohol, spicy foods, citrus, hot beverages, tobacco, external heat and sun exposure. Clients with this condition should be advised to avoid these irritating factors. Menopause may also be a factor.
I can suggest unless directed otherwise by a physician, some specific ARBONNE skin care products may help to ease the discomfort and negative effects of Rosacea.
The following gentle products may be used:
• Cleanser: Arbonne Intelligence Daily Cleanser, Arbonne Intelligence Daily Balancer
• Moisturizer: Arbonne Intelligence Daily Moisturizing Cream, Day & Night, Arbonne Intelligence Daily Eye Cream
• Specialty: Arbonne Intelligence Rejuvenating Cream, Arbonne Intelligence Skin Conditioning Oil, Arbonne
Intelligence Personalizer, ABC Sunscreen SPF 30+.
The best recommendation for people suffering from Rosacea is to see a dermatologist. The products I
recommended are suggestions only.
