@x3uhohitzmorganx3 wrong e_e!
well I think that (and correct me if I’m wrong) usually people who skin pick (like myself) often feel really badly about themselves and also their skin, which just causes them to pick more and more. I think what really helps is to boost your self-esteem and try to learn how to love yourself or practice self-love.
I learned that everyone has skin problems, and that I shouldn’t scrutinize myself so harshly. But I also skin pick out of stress so I’ve been trying hard to write in a journal instead.
unfortunately for many people, it has taken ten years or more and are still struggling.
but I guess it gives people hope.
Today my skin looked beautiful..until tonight
You know you want to stay in sometimes cuz you have acne? Well go out…sun helps -_-
i advise any1 to put your face in a sink of hot water to open and clear your pores, then rinse with cold water to close them again
Thanx for the vid

thing about women.. they can cover up scars n acne .. what do we do?
Thank u soo much! I don’t have a large skin picking problem on my face, but I have eczema on my neck and the pits of my elbows, and I’ve been told that I get this crazed look when I scratch those areas until they hurt enough for the itchiness to go away… This video just picked me up and told me that I should just stop and have a rethink about what I’m doing
I’m a chronic picker, and I understand why I do it. It’s my way of releasing stress and most of the time I do it unconsciously. My self confidence is shattered and though I’ve tried to stop multiple times, I keep failing. It’s somewhat of a vicious cycle: I pick my face because I already feel ugly, and I feel ugly because I pick on my face.
I feel there is no hope. Great video, I really admire your determination to stop such a harmful activity.
Im having a hard time with picking my face and back. Can you give me some ideas about what I should do productivly other than obsessing and picking at my skin?
In the NOW, you hit the nail on the black head ;–) It was a meditation moment for me. Been doing it for over 15 + years, better stop today because the spots just keep reappearing to supply you a meditation! Wonderful work to bring it out in the open. Up to today I didn’t know it had a name, I knew quiet a few who once shared they had a similar problem, makes it less bad to know you are not the only one. Thank you girl you do great work, peace
I also suffer from it, but I have recently thought of placing sticky note reminders on my bathroom mirror to remind me when I’m going to go do it, it may also help to print out pictures of the aftermath of picking and taping it to your mirror as well. So while you’re living in the now, you’ll also be reminded of the future and the damage you’re causing, so the ‘now’ won’t be as appealing.
Watching this video was quite the wake up call, and actually caused me to start crying at the realization of what I’m doing. I’ve been picking since 13, and I’m 20 now. It’s been almost a daily thing, and it’s even gone to my chest, back, arms, wherever acne shows up…
I know this is silly but I didn’t think there were that many, especially not as severe, as my case. I take comfort in knowing I’m not the only one, and thank you for this video. I’m going to stop this. Whatever it takes. <3

This comment made me burst into tears. I feel exactl exactly the same. The picking only subsides when my wonderful boyfriend is around me. Ive asked him to yell at me whenever he sees me fingering over my face for bumps. It is totally humilliating to be told by someone you love that they notice your habit, but it DOES owrk to help you stop. The real problem is when youre alone, and no-one is around to remind you. Much of my picking is unconscious too. xxx
having cystic acne, and dermatillomania is probably the most challenging thing ive ever had to overcome. its been about 4 months of this contant battle against these two problems. ive completely destroyed every inch of my face. its depresses me knowing that even when my face clears up, ill be covered in horrible scars. if it werent for my boyfriend id be dead right now. i owe him my life.
@rainbowdolly ah god i am in tears reading these comments as well… I have been severely picking my skin for almost 11 years now and it is ruining my life with the scabs and scarring I constantly have to hide. I know I have to stop and I know HOW to stop since I’ve gone to therapists and researched it so much but it’s all up to me and having the will to do it. It’s so hard but we have to discipline ourselves and save our skin from being destroyed even further. Good luck to you sweetie! <3
Thank you sooo much, I suffer with the obsession of wanting to “fix” my skin and always always make a mess, Presently I am attempting to apply the 12 steps to my skin picking. Thank you so much for speaking out that there is hope and we do recover.
You are just so pleasant! Thankyou very much for your video
I love your one month challenge! I’m gonna try for something small tho… like one day! It’s very hard for me but if I can accomplish even just one day to stop picking, then there must be hope. Thank you so much! You’re beautiful!!
