How to get rid of back acne in a few weeks?
I’m going to a bat mitzvah at the beginning of April but I have acne on my upper arms, upper back and shoulders. It’s really embarrassing, especially since the dress I’m wearing is strapless ![]()
Is there any way I can get rid of it before the party WITHOUT going to the dermatologist?
If not, is there any sort of concealer of foundation that I can use on my back that won’t rub off onto my dress or other people?
Thank you!

When washing your back use a loofah, sponge or exfoliant to help remove any dead skin cells that may clog up pores. Use a gentle action and don’t be too harsh otherwise you will end up breaking the skin. You should probably change your shirt twice a day to avoid bacteria buildup.Try http://solutionsforpimples.blogspot.com/ for more info.
Buy a big bottle of talcum power (something mild like Johnson&johnson baby powder) and apply all over your back each night before you go to bed. This will absorb excess oil.
i totally saw this on tv and they said that putting vinegar on your back WILL work. not overnight though, but it was on the show, "The Doctors"
Extend your facial cleansing regime to your neck back and shoulders and if you have access to the Biore strips they work wonders. I would try applying a different make up on your body than what you apply to your face, you’ll look weird. apply the same makeup to your shoulders and back area and apply a makeup stay your shoulders and back for a quick fix for your event you’ve been invited to. but for long-term solution be sure to continue the same cleansing along your shoulder and back. I suffered the same thing when I wore my hair long and the hair care products caused body acne. For the make finish, I ‘ve found the make finish product on this website very helpful myinvisiblefinish.com
What works for me sometimes is just using some plain rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball.
Just rub it over your bumps every night and hopefully you’ll see improvement.!
If the acne is on the back of your upper arms it could be a skin condition, something polaris. My doctor told me I had it. And it doesnt go away. It’s just little red bumps on my arms, very tiny and they don’t look like pimples. Whatever you do, do not irritate the area or scratch — you’ll only make it worse.
Use a damp cloth to wipe your back, shoulders, and arms to remove oil and dirt.
Use face toner and all the areas you have the acne. You can use body cream on the area as well.
If you have long hair, don’t let it sit on your back because the oil, sweat, and dirt will collect and cause the acne (at least I think that’s what happens, my friend would get bad acne on her forehead because of her bangs).
Concealer and foundation will rub off if you touch it, so if its absolutely necessary, just put a little on the acne to lighten it.
If its really bad you should just go to a dermatologist they can recommend stuff thats specifically made for back acne. If you’re that embarrassed you really should go.
Try to shower every day (you don’t have to wash your hair every day and its best if you only wash it every other day to avoid drying it out).
In the shower, first wash with soap, rinse, then use face cleanser on your back, shoulders and arms.
Apply some toner once you’re dry and use cream that isn’t oily.
Remove dead skin cells regularly by exfoliating. Use a gentle scrub with natural defoliants like ground walnut shells, or use an over-the-counter chemical defoliant like salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Adding ground walnut shell to a thick moisturizer like cocoa butter can be effective too. Take caution, because over-exfoliating can actually increase the likelihood of acne by irritating the skin. Pat dry, rather than rubbing, since rubbing can cause irritation to the fresh skin you’ve just revealed.
# Use a good toner. Spray onto face or wipe on with a cotton ball and wipe off with a clean, dry cotton ball. This gets rid of excess cleanser and tightens pores. Good, inexpensive choices include plain witch hazel for normal to dry skin, lemon juice, or 3% hydrogen peroxide for oily skin. 70% ethyl rubbing alcohol can also be used for severe oiliness, but it can really dry out your skin and irritate it more. Some toners are medicated, and this stage is the best for using a medicated product if you’re only going to use one medication.
# Bacteria in pores is one cause of spots. Reduce the amount of bacteria by using toners containing anti-bacterial agents like alcohol, peroxide and benzalkonium chloride, and by using creams that contain benzoyl peroxide (ask your doctor about benzaclin, with moisturizer if you have dry skin, as it works better than just plain benzoyl because benzoyl takes up to 8 weeks before improvement is seen) which kill bacteria as well as cause the skin to regenerate faster.
