Can anyone recommend other acne treatment besides proactive and skin id?
I’ve used proactive and skin id for about 6 months each, without noticing any favorable results. I have mild acne, 21 years old, on a healthy diet and exercise 5 days a week. Any suggestions on acne treatments that work?

Well,I do have terrible acne and I found that my skin type is sensitive skin and it makes me harder to find the right products that I could use to reduce my acne. That is when I tried Clinique 3 Steps Skincare Regime and it really works for my acne and now I have less breakouts after 3 months usage and I only need to work on my scars from my previous acne to improve my skin complexion.Since Clinique 3 Steps works for all skin types,I would recommend you to try this product since it has the basics of skincare regime and work wonders on your skin. However, you could also try these homemade remedies if you want to improve your chance of healing.Good luck trying these at home(:
Honey Paste-Another easy and effective homemade acne treatment is to make a paste of honey with cinnamon and nutmeg. All you need is about one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and about half of it nutmeg powder. Add some honey to make enough paste to cover the inflammed area completely. Just lie down as honey may dribble down. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes and wash with luke warm water.
Orange peel-Homemade Acne Treatment using Orange peel has been found very effective. Pound the orange peel with water on a piece of stone and apply to acne affected areas.
Basil tea-Basil tea like neem is effective in killing bacteria. Drinking it twice a day can do wonders to the skin.
Coconut Oil-Coconut oil is a cheap and easily available acne solution. Regular use of coconut oil over a period of time helps to clear your skin.
Lemon Juice-A simple remedy at home for acne: Apply lemon juice regularly to reduce pimples and acne. This has proven beneficial results.

honestly what worked best for me was going to a dermatologist. but i have really good insurance. if you work check with your insurance company to see if you’re covered. it might even be worth payig out of pocket, just think about the $ you already spent.
another good product is Arbonne. i would recoment this to anyone anyday! its the best! and suprisingly cheap too

I am also your age, with mild but stubborn acne. My dermatologist declared it adult acne, attributed it to hormones and stress, and told me to 1. use something mild like aveeno or cetaphil to wash my face (he said though I have acne, using something harsh…I was previously using Clean and Clear…was just aggravating my skin more) and 2. put me on a mild anti-bacterial medication called minocycline.
My skin has improved very rapidly, with no itchiness/dryness/redness.
You can try Neutrogena, Clean & Clear, and Aveda. There are many things you can try at stores like WalMart and Target and other places.
I hope you are doing cleansing your face after each exercise session, if not it would be easy for dirt to get trapped in your pores that open up when you perspire. Also, drink plenty of tomato juice – it helps with acne as well as body odor… Exercising in the sun also helps to clear your skin, although you would want to use sunscreen so as not to aggravate other stuff that might worsen your skin.
1. Tea tree oil. This is a type of topical treatment that you can use naturally, minus the chemicals. You can apply tea tree oil openly on the affected area. For those whose skins are sensitive, you may dilute tea tree oil into a small amount of water to avoid skin irritation.
2. Echinacea, tea tree oil and Oregon grapes. The combination of these three is exceptionally considered successful and well-known natural remedy for acne. It is also believed that the mixture is useful in boosting the functions of the immune system. They contain anti-fungal and antiseptic properties that aids in combating skin infections.
Control your acne by following the Acne Treatment 99 protocol:

Morning – Use a Salicylic Acid face wash. Rub it on your face, and let it soak in for 2 or 3 minutes before washing it off. After you do this, apply a small amount of Benzoyl Peroxide to your entire face, and rub it in. Wait two to three minutes for the Benzoyl Peroxide to dry completely, and then moisturize your face with a non-comedogenic moisturizer. Follow with cosmetics if desired.
Night –Use exfoliate salicylic acid face scrub. Make sure to let it soak in for 2 or 3 minutes before rinsing. For an aggressive treatment, you can apply another layer of benzoyl peroxide.
Before bed – Apply a generous amount of Vaseline to your face. This will lock in the moisture, and prevent your skin from peeling.
Please note- If you exercise during the day, it is recommended that you shower and wash your face, in order to keep your skin clean and free of bacteria.
